Founder
Mr. Kao Hsien-ping was born in Taiwan in 1944 and graduated from Tamkang University in Taiwan in 1967. After graduation, he worked in several management positions in manufacturing companies in Taiwan. In 1979, he went to Singapore to establish Sande Co., Ltd. ("Sande"). Mr. Gao was the founder of Sande and served as executive chairman and director during his lifetime. In 1985, Mr. Gao became the first returned overseas Chinese to invest in China. Under the leadership of Mr. Gao, Sande became a listed company on the main board of the Singapore Exchange. Its investment locations include Fujian, Jiangsu, Shanghai and Yunnan. Its former and current industries include electronics, cement, PVC pipes and fittings, hotels and real estate. After years of hard work, he has achieved brilliant results with the spirit of thrift and hard work to win. He made indelible contributions to the economic development of his locality, and won the title of honorary citizen in Xiamen, Longyan, Nantong and Dali respectively. In 1991, Sande Co., Ltd. was listed in Singapore, and won the Best Enterprise Award personally awarded by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in 1993. For this reason, Mr. Gao Xinping was also the cover character of Singapore's English publication "Entrepreneur"; the company's products won the best quality award in the world, the company won the honorary titles of "National Double Excellent Enterprise", "National Top 500", "Fujian Province Top 300", "Provincial Top 100 Enterprises", "Large Taxpayer", "Trustworthy Enterprise" and so on.
Mr. Gao Xinping is also actively involved in the Chamber of Commerce. Before his death, Mr. Gao was an honorary director of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce. He is also the founding president of the Taiwanese Investment Association of Xiamen, Longyan and Nantong. He is the only entrepreneur in China who has served as the founding president of the three Taiwan associations.
In addition, Mr. Gao is also keen on social welfare undertakings, and often cares about the disadvantaged groups in society. At critical times, he is generous, charitable, and gives back to the society with great good deeds. Foundations have been set up in China and Singapore to donate to poor schoolchildren and other vulnerable groups. He is also active in disaster relief, the cumulative number of donations is considerable! Mr. Gao Xinping successively established Singapore Sande Charity Fund in November 2011, Taishan College Gao Xinping Scholarship Fund in August 2011, Red Cross (Sande Xing Emergency Fund and Longyan Charity Fund in December 2012. The entire fund covers educational grants, free medical and emergency services, donations to needy families of the disabled and lonely elderly, and natural disasters: earthquakes, snowstorms, floods, etc. So far, the cumulative charitable donations project more than 0.1 billion.
Mr. Gao Xinping always adheres to the spirit of three virtues in doing things: starting with diligence and thrift, being benevolent and righteous, and inheriting family loyalty and filial piety.
